Tips for the Perfect Profile Photo
Strict Side View: Position the subject at a true 90° angle (facing left or right). We want to see the distinct outline of eyelashes, nose, lips, and chin.
Eye-Level & Relaxed: Hold your phone camera at eye level. A calm, closed-mouth expression captures the most classic, timeless silhouette line.
Bright & Clear: Take the photo against a plain, light-coloured wall or bright window so facial outlines and wisps of hair stand out clearly.
Hairstyles & Details: Ponytails, hair bows, collars, and curls add wonderful personality—style hair how you'd like it captured!

Getting young children or pets to sit perfectly still can feel impossible—and that’s completely okay! You don't need a formal studio setup.
For Children: Place them in a high chair or on a stool facing sideways while they watch a favorite video, read a book, or look out a window. A candid snapshot from the side at eye level works brilliantly.
For Pets: Have someone hold a treat or toy directly in front of their nose at eye level while you stand to their side to snap the photo.
Key Rule: As long as their head and neck are at a true 90 Degree side profile (showing one eye, ears, nose line, and lips), Raymond can work his magic!

Yes, absolutely! If you are torn between two different expressions, hairstyles, or profile angles, feel free to submit up to 3 photos per subject.

Raymond will select the photo with the clearest profile line that will translate best into a classic hand-cut silhouette. If you have a preferred photo, simply drop a quick note in the "Artist Notes" field on the upload form.

Paper: Hand-cut from acid-free, archival-quality silhouette paper to prevent fading, yellowing, or deterioration over time.
Sizing: The standard single-person cut comes mounted onto a premium 5 x7 inch (12.7 x 17.8cm}$) backing board, ready for standard framing.
Framing: Your silhouette arrives flat, protected in a rigid document casing. You can easily frame it yourself using any off-the-shelf 5 x 7 frame or a larger frame with a 5 x 7 mat opening.
